Introduction to Sigafantasy
It was 1966 when an advertisement made famous by the actor Ernesto Calindri began to appear on Italian television. He sat in the middle of the chaotic city traffic and, sipping a glass of Cynar, pronounced the now iconic phrase: "against the wear and tear of modern life", born from the mind of the enlightened entrepreneur Angelo Dalle Molle. A message that keeps its profound meaning alive even in today's society.
Every day we are assaulted by what could be defined as man's worst enemy: inertia, understood as the speeding up of thought and time. Modernity teaches us to be inexorably fast, thus losing the concept of the present to live the future and forget the past. Modernity also teaches us to center our lives on economic logic, now the only symbolic generator of values in our culture. Life therefore often presents itself as a simple wait towards nothingness, an inexorable push to live an existence that does not truly belong to us. However, it is at this moment that the need for a revolution must manifest itself in us: awareness, or the intimate stance taken towards life by each of us. We must find the strength to believe in an ideal, the strength to believe in our own vision. We must find the courage to change despite the limits, contradictions and fears, because change is freedom and being free means not being afraid to believe in our own ideas.
These introductory lines embrace the true essence of Sigafantasy , a space of freedom capable of enclosing within it our projects and those of people who every day do not just want to survive existence, but want to live it. We invite you to enter our world to open your eyes and learn to recognize this incessant wear and tear of modern life. We want to shake your souls and wake you from the sleep that pervades our society. If you do not understand these lines or they seem to you just a jumble of sentences joined together for a commercial move, do not worry, simply go back to sleep and continue living in the world that you have so wisely built for yourself.
